A prayer for forgiveness
Great Cosmos, united with my being, hear me! The divinity within this soul calls out to its source.
I wish firstly to acknowledge the wrongdoing that I have done in the past. I understand that I have taken actions which have had negative consequences, for both others and myself. These actions of mine have caused suffering and turmoil, and I do not wish to continue to do so.
I wish secondly to affirm that I aim to be a force for good within this world, and that I harbour no ill will towards any. I wish peace and happiness to all beings with whom I share my presence in this world.
I wish thirdly to pledge, with my own conscience and integrity as my witness, that I shall use wisdom, compassion, and mindfulness in all my actions. I will consider the impact of my actions on others, and myself, beyond the present moment. I shall place myself above no other when making these considerations.
With this acknowledgement, affirmation and pledge, I pray for forgiveness. I pray that I may be freed from the turmoil of my past, such that I may act unimpeded as a positive force. I pray that I be able to achieve serenity of mind, uninterrupted by the chaos of the past. I pray that I may forgive myself, knowing the light which I hold, and bolster through each action I take.
Hear me, Cosmos, and know my intent for the future I share with all those around me.
I pray for release.
I pray for tranquility.
I pray for forgiveness.
